An extensive multi-diciplinary description of dutch colonial Indonesia in the first decade of the 20th century, for the greater part dealing with Java (p. 1-257) and the so-called "Buitenbezittingen" or outer Provinces: Sumatra (incl. Rhiouw- & Lingga Archipelago), Celebes, Borneo...(:) history and geography, administrative divisions, civil administration, europeans, the Oriental foreign element: Arabs, Japanese & Chinese, agriculture, forests, mines and industry, political and economic condition of Sumatra, Borneo, Celebes, the Moluccas and New Guinea. Good uncut copy. (some occasional light marginal foxing throughout, light wear to spine-ends).
